As you are all, by virtue of walking through the world accompanied by an IG, Iggy Ambassadors, I thought it might interest you to know that the IGCA Rescues in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho now have a Petfinder site.

Megan Deglow must have stayed up all night to put it up and she says there is still testing to do; but it is up. We hope that this will bring our Rescue to the attention of folks who want to adopt and will educate potential adopters about the breed. We will soon have a more memorable site address (we hope ignw.petfinder.com) but for now the site is up at the difficult-to-remember http://www.petfinder....

We based the site on experience with other IGCA Petfinder sites, but there is always room for improvement. So please give us any comments you may have.

The Web site almost never reflects all the fosters we have in care. After they are vet checked and assessed, many dogs go directly to pre-approved homes that have been waiting for a dog that matches their lifestyle; and it takes awhile after a dog comes into foster care for us to be able to make an accurate evaluation of its temperament and needs.

A big thanks to Megan for taking the time, when she is just over moving and just starting a new job, to get this going.

Cheers,
Alice and The Pack/Clowder

We just got the news that our requested petfinder address has been approved--so now you can remember it.

Either ignw.petfinder.com OR ignw.petfinder.org will work. No need for the www, but it will work with that too.

There are links on the site so folks can learn about IGs, download an appliation, find a play date, or contact a rep. We hope we have put a few answers to frequently asked questions on the site so you can get in a bit more walking in when your IG decides to venture forth with you in tow.

Cheers,
Alice

You are doing a wonderful job. Since you have been in the northwest, so much has been accomplished.
I am so glad you are here! I am sure the iggys are too.

This is wonderful! I do agree that it will be another avenue of getting the word out about Iggies, especially in the PNW.

Since you have been in the northwest, so much has been accomplished.

I am always most happy to receive praise, but in this case I truly must add that I am only building on the shoulders of giants. Morgan Harburg-Little started as the Rescue Rep here, if I understand correctly, when she was 15 years old. She continued to work diligently (and still does) until she needed a break because of a life-changing chronic illness. At that point, the strong collaboration she and Melody Ulrey had developed allowed Rescue to continue in Washington. I have no idea how many times Melody drove that I-5 trip, but, having done so a few times myself now, I can say that was an act of true devotion.

Both Morgan and Melody have always been availble as wise advisors to me as we all try to cope with the huge increase of IGs in our area--and we are not alone. This is happening throughout the country. I can only hope that the puppy miller find IGs to be an unprofitable product very soon.

Excelsior,
Alice
