Weather permitting, and if your dog is OK with this situation, meet up as the Mini Italian Mafia visits Marymoor Park. This is a huge, well-maintained, and not-that-highly-used 40-acre park that is a great walk. PLEASE NOTE: Marymoor is not for every IG. My dogs were on leash for quite awhile before I trusted them here. The park is not fully fenced as the entrance is open and this is a huge park. Once you get to the center, where we will meet, it is less likely an IG will run out of the park--but if you have an escape artist we'd recommend a leash. Also, this is NOT a small-dogs-only area--there WILL be big dogs. There are always risks in such a situation so please protect your IG first! For those who are not sure about their IGs, keeping them on lead the first few times is highly recommended. I sure did! Letta is still allowed ONLY on leash. All those caveats aside, we hope you can meet us to enjoy a great run. The official Meetup will begin at the circular area at the center of the park at about 11:45 a.m. and we usually hang out there for awhile to be sure everyone has joined us. Then we walk the trails and fields. Good directions to the park can be found at http://www.kingcount y.gov/recreation/par ks/inventory/marymoo r.aspx

We have a regular Meet at Magnuson. This item sends one notice with a reminder for two months. Interim dates are noted on the calendar but there will be no reminders to cut down on e-mails. This is a very friendly group and a great time, if you have a flexible schedule or a vacation day, we hope to see you for IG play and a good walk. We meet every Wednesday, weather permitting at 1:30 p.m. For November and December there will be a Meet-up at Magnuson each Wednesday at 1:30 p.m: November 4, 11, 18, 25 and
December 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 If you have time on any of those days, please join us in the small dog area. After about half an hour some of us walk down the water--but this IS in the big dog area and most dogs need to get used to that idea on leash AND they need to be able to stay close. It is a wonderful walk, but it does have some risks as some folks with big dogs don't watch them well. Some members usually choose to stay in the small dog area, so all options are open for IG play.

Please join us for our first indoor play date of the season and our annual HOWL-O-WEEN party. Costumes are encouraged for the dogs and for people too! So come join the fun-it will be a DEVILISHLY good time!!(Costumes optional for dogs and humans, but they sure were fun last year). As an added attraction, Ann Marie has adopted her very own IG PD (hope I spelled that right). He says he already has his costume ready and cannot wait to welcome all his IG friends to Spawz, his Second Home. Please use street parking, as the parking next to the venue is reserved for the restaurant. If you haven't done so already, bring copy of proof of rabies vaccination with our name and your dogs name so Ann Marie can file it and you won't have to prove vaccination status each time. She is willing to consider exceptions for older dogs with a history of vaccinations and has exempted Logan who has autoimmune disease from the requirement. If you have any concerns about this requirement, please e-mail me and I'll see what we can work out. There is a fee of $3.00 per dog payable to SpawZ
Cost:

Please join us for our second IGGY play date, potluck event and IGGY rescue auction. We are delighted to share our home with our IGGY friends. We reside in a very quiet, private neighborhood. Our home has a large yard that is well secured with tall wooden fencing all around. We'll provide "baked" BBQ chicken and baked beans (yep, Tanya is using her handy crockpots again). Please bring a side dish, salad or dessert AND a beverage of your choice. We will provide, plates, utensils and napkins and silverware. You will probably want to bring some chairs to sit on as well, as we have very limited outside furniture. Lastly, please take your shoes off if you come into the house to use the facilities. :) This special event will include a raffle to benefit Italian Greyhound Rescue. Please bring any doggy or other item you'd like to auction off at this event. Also, please bring $$ to purchase auction items. Parking is limited, so please try to car pool if possible. We will provide suggestions on where to park so you won't interfere with traffic and emergency vehicle access into and out of our neighborhood. Attendance is limited to 25 humans, due to parking limitations. Lily, Avery and Bella are looking forward to greeting you all. Rain cancels this event.

By popular demand of the IGs who proclaim "We are NOT morning dogs" and as the weather is cooling, I am returning the Marymoor Mixer to the usual time. If anyone prefers an early brisk walk through Marymoor, please send me a pm as I force my pack to be morning dogs and prefer the am! But, the formal Meetup will now be at 11:45 until it gets simmering in Seattle again.
