By popular demand of the IGs who proclaim "We are NOT morning dogs" and as the weather is cooling, I am returning the Marymoor Mixer to the usual time. If anyone prefers an early brisk walk through Marymoor, please send me a pm as I force my pack to be morning dogs and prefer the am! But, the formal Meetup will now be at 11:45 until it gets simmering in Seattle again. Weather permitting, and if your dog is OK with this situation, meet up as the Mini Italian Mafia visits Marymoor Park. This is a huge, well-maintained, and not-that-highly-used 40-acre park that is a great walk. PLEASE NOTE: Marymoor is not for every IG. My dogs were on leash for quite awhile before I trusted them here. The park is not fully fenced as the entrance is open and this is a huge park. Once you get to the center, where we will meet, it is less likely an IG will run out of the park--but if you have an escape artist we'd recommend a leash. Also, this is NOT a small-dogs-only area--there WILL be big dogs. There are always risks in such a situation so please protect your IG first! For those who are not sure about their IGs, keeping them on lead the first few times is highly recommended. I sure did! Letta is still allowed ONLY on leash. All those caveats aside, we hope you can meet us to enjoy a great run. The official Meetup will begin at the circular area at the center of the park at about 9:30 a.m. and we usually hang out there for awhile to be sure everyone has joined us. Then we walk the trails and fields. Good directions to the park can be found at http://www.metrokc.g ov/Parks/marymoor/

We have a regular Meet at Magnuson. This item sends one notice with a reminder for two months. Interim dates are noted on the calendar but there will be no reminders to cut down on e-mails. This is a very friendly group and a great time, if you have a flexible schedule or a vacation day, we hope to see you for IG play and a good walk. We meet every Wednesday, weather permitting at 1:30 p.m.. For July and August there will be a Meet at Magnuson each Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.: September 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 October 7, 14, 21, 28 If you have time on any of those days, please join us in the small dog area. After about half an hour some of us walk down the the water--but this IS in the big dog area and most dogs need to get used to that idea on leash AND they need to be able to stay close. It is a wonderful walk, but it does have some risks as some folks with big dogs don't watch them well. Some members usually choose to stay in the small dog area, so all options are open for IG play.

Due to popular request--because of heat and some crowding at Marymoor--I am trying an earlier time for the Marymoor play date in August. Please let me know how this works. Robbie is tail-waggin' eager to introduce Heather and Les, the greyt humans he adopted, to the IG world. So he is is holding a play date and pot luck lunch to show off his Forever Home. (Robbie says it did take him a few tries, but he knows this is The Home He Had Hoped For. Heather and Les ask you bring your own beverage of choice and, if you can, either a salad or a dessert. The will have sandwich making, plates, cups, cutlery, and more. We'll also need a few more chairs. Robbie wants to be sure everyone gets here to play so he has provided these directions: "Just so you get here safely, I'm going to have my Mom hang a red, a green and a white balloon at the corner of Longview (my street) and Commercial and then another set on my mailbox. Tell your chauffeur to go 3/4 of the way around the round-about when coming into Anacortes, which means you will then be headed south on Commercial. Longview is two blocks from the round-about, and you'll need to turn right there. My home is just one more block from Commercial, on the corner of Longview and "O." Can't wait to see you and all our other IG buddies and their folks. Robbie Burke"

Let's do it again! Kathy says our goal is to break $2,000 for yard sales this summer---so if you are in the Olympia area or have items to donate, we need your help. Ed and Edie are hosting the first-ever yard sale at their home to benefit IG Rescue NW. This will be part of an all-community event with great publicity, trucks to pick up unsold items, and fun events afterward. The yard sale will be form 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. , but they will begin giving out maps at 7:00 am! Wiki I have started a Wiki to plan this sale. As always, this is group collaboration, so feel free to add, edit, and correct. The Wiki site is http://iggyplanners. pbworks.com There are links on that page to items we need and a place to sign up for sifts. In order to keep this private, I will need approve folks for access to the site. If you didn't already sign up for the Seattle yard sale planning, please go to https://iggyplanners .pbworks.com/request _access.php (Edie, Tanya, and Michelle you are already approved. ) Donations If you have items to donate, Edie says someone is almost always home and they are happy to store donations. Please call ahead to make a dropoff-the phone number is after their address. If you need transport from farther north, I'm in Seattle and can store items and take them with me. Send me an e-mail and we give you directions and arrange a time.. Display Items We are not quite sure how this one will go--but we will need things like hangars, display tables, and bags and packing material. If you can supply some of these, please sign up on the Wiki. Signs Jan had the great idea of having signs through the sale area to remind folks that this sale benefits dogs--it tends to make folks more generous. Design is not my forte--we could use help here too. Otherwise, the community will do the promotion for us. Yippee.

Please join us at Spawz to watch the Iggies run and play together inside if the weather is wet and inside/outside if there is some sun. Please use street parking, as the parking next to the venue is reserved for the restaurant. If you haven't done so already, bring copy of proof of rabies vaccination with our name and your dogs name so Ann Marie can file it and you won't have to prove vaccination status each time. She is willing to consider exceptions for older dogs with a history of vaccinations and has exempted Logan who has autoimmune disease from the requirement. If you have any concerns about this requirement, please e-mail me and I'll see what we can work out. There is a fee of $3.00 per dog payable to Spawz

Weather permitting, bring your IGs to play at Fort Steliacoom. Please gather at the small running area of Fort Steilacoom so the Iggies can run, jump, and all that in a very large park. This area is not reserved for small dogs, but they tend to congregate here. Please be aware that there may be large dogs here too, which always can have risks. We advise keeping timid dogs on leash at all times and all dogs on leash until they learn to stay close and come when called. This link gives good directions http://parkdogs.com. After you enter the park from 87th keep driving straight back, past the first parking lots. You will see the people with dogs toward the end of this BIG park. Here is informaiton on the Fort http://fortsteilacoo m......
