Get in the holiday spirit at this pre-season IGGY Ambassadors shopping party! Savvy Dog Boutique was opened only a couple of months ago by Ambassadors Michelle and her husband and other family members. We've missed Michelle and her 4-pack of iggies since they have been so busy with the store and other jobs. So let's take the meetup to them! *** UPDATE *** Kay from Viewfinder Photography will be there. You can choose if you wish for a "holiday theme" background. Photo packages and pricing vary, please inquire at the event. Refreshments and shopping with other IG owners and their iggies. Please note: this is an "on leash" event. 1 - 3 PM Savvy Dog Boutique: (253) 566-9663 UPDATE ON 11/13/06 There will be a canopy setup outdoors for socializing (so we don't clog up the store). Please bring a folding chair if you would like to sit and chat. Sorry to have to be a playground monitor but BE SURE TO POTTY YOUR DOG OUTDOORS PRIOR TO ENTERING THE STORE. Even my well-behaved dog has been tempted in the past to mark where others have gone before her inside a store. If you use a Flexi-leash lock it at about 4 feet long and keep your dog close to you at all times. Please pay attention to your dog and how it acts on a leash around a lot of people and other dogs. Please pick up your dog if it starts to act stressed, cranky, or obnoxious. Thanks for helping make a great meetup!

Patty has offered to host a September picnic/fundraiser in Port Orchard. Email Patty with any questions: pdlystad@wavecable.c om This is the FOURTH AND FINAL picnic fundraiser of the season for iggy rescue efforts. Plenty of fun for people and iggies alike! Iggy gear rummage sale, select vendors, great food! BYOC (bring your own chair). PLEASE NOTE SPECIAL PLAYTIME HOURS TO ALLOW FOR FERRY CROSSINGS: Noon to 4 PM. Playdate: This is an outdoor iggy playdate at a private residence. Picnic / Potluck: Please bring your favorite picnic food or potluck dish to share! BYOC: Bring Your Own Chair if you want to have someplace clean to sit. Rummage Sale: Ready to clean out your iggies closet? Bring your gently used dog clothing, toys, jewelry, leashes and collars. Donate them to the rummage sale! The money people pay to "purchase" items will actually be donated to local IG rescue efforts. Everyone benefits! And your iggy will be stylin'. ATTENDANCE IS LIMITED TO 50 PEOPLE. Our group is so large now that this means not everyone will be able to attend. Please RSVP as soon as possible so the event organizers can plan properly. THINK ABOUT CARPOOLING. You can drive around to Port Orchard, or you can take a Washiongton State Ferry. TAKE A FERRY: You can select one of two routes to get across the Sound and within easy driving distance of the picnic. SEATTLE-BREMERTON or FAUNTLEROY-SOUTHWORT H (Fauntleroy is West Seattle). You can find schedule information at http://www.wsdot.wa. gov/ferries/schedule s/current/ Dogs are not allowed on the passenger deck, only on the car deck. If you plan to take your iggy out of the car during the crossing, be sure to bring plenty of warm clothing. You know iggies don't like wind! RAIN CANCELS - BACK-UP DATE FOR THIS EVENT IS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 8TH. It's entirely possible we will have a pleasant and dry autumn!!

IGGY Ambassadors - Come Bark in the Park! Meetup for some play time at the Small and Shy Dog Play Area in the dog park at 12:30. The "Small and Shy" play area is just inside the gate found off the parking lot at the south end of the parking lot running the length of the dog park. Drive straight into Magnuson Park at the northern entry and stay straight thru the stop sign for about 1/4 mile. You'll run right into the dog park. Look to the right for an entry gate near the end of the parking strip. Want to participate in PAWSwalk? Register and start fundraising today to help PAWS raise $130,000 for animals in need. See link below. PAWSwalk is more than just a walk in the park! Check out the full list of activities at the event link below. Most interesting to Sophia is the following!! -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- CityDog Magazine Cover Dog Search This is your pup's chance to be a star! Visit the CityDog Magazine booth starting at 8:00 a.m., and for $5 you can register your canine pal for his or her chance to grace the cover of the spring 2007 issue of CityDog Magazine, read by savvy dog-lovers across Puget Sound. Space is limited, so be sure to show up early to claim your spot in the contest. Then, show up at the stage at 11:45 a.m. for the main event! Each dog will have one minute to strut his or her stuff before our panel of celebrity judges. The judges will score based on three categories: cuteness, personality and talent. The winner of this round will receive a year-long subscription to CityDog Magazine and a PAWS retail gift pack. He or she will also move on to the finals to compete against the two other finalists from the Humane Society's Walk For the Animals and the Fremont Oktoberfest. Readers of CityDog Magazine will participate in an online vote to choose the winning Cover Dog. -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- For more information, see http://www.pawswalk. net

Picnic / Potluck: Please bring your favorite picnic food to share! Want to cook something special? Outoor BBQ/fireplace on site. BYOC: Bring Your Own Chair if you want to have someplace clean to sit. Rummage Sale: Ready to clean out your iggies closet? Bring your gently used dog clothing, toys, jewelry, leashes and collars. Donate them to the rummage sale!
