Yard Sale to Benefit IG Rescue Northwest

Liz and Jamie have agreed once again to subject their beautiful home to the chaos of our Third Annual Yard Sale. Each year this sale has raised more that $1,000 for the IGs in IG Rescue Northwest (Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.)

The Wiki software we have used in the past has been upgraded (or I am confused, always a strong possibility). As soon as I can consult with Heather (now on the other side of the country but still a supporter--and now a rescue rep) we'll have a place for you to sign up. To give you an idea, we need STUFF and HELP:

STUFF
* Please take this opportunity to de-clutter. This is a yard sale. We take it all--well, not complete trash or (the oops the first year) pornography. The IGs have a reputation to maintain. No, that's not right when I think about their group behavior. Let's just say that IG Rescue has a reputation to maintina
* Ask your friends, neighbors, and anyone else you can think of to donate.
* I can give a receipt for a tax deduction to anyone who wants one.
HELP
* There is always a crush the day before to get things picked up, displayed, and priced. Please help if you can. Making order out of chaosa is a critical step to a successful sale, and you get first look at all the good stuff. Please come to help so we can get some sleep. Liz and Jamie are always very generous with food and drink.
* We need folks to take shifts staffing the sale. There is usually a big crush in the morning and then close to closing with some traffic most of the day.
* We need folks to help pack up once the sale is over and get what we can't sell to the Goodwill.
LOGISTICS
* If you need your stuff picked up so it can be there on Friday for us to sort, please send me an e-mail. We can arrange that. I can also store things in my garage if you need to donate them ahead of time.
* We need bags to pack purchases; coat hangers and racks to display clothing; and tables, tables, tables.
* Also signs, someone to posting listings on Craiglist and and all the other promotional ideas anyone can think of.

And, if you can't help, Stop and Shop. There are usually some really great deals

Bring your dogs! There is a nice fenced yard where they can play and we'll rotate a few dogs in an ex-pen in the yard. They will attract potential customers--and I will try not to get too irritated at all the inquiries if we are giving them away.

All suggestions are most welcome. As soon as I consult with Heather about the Wiki, we'll be taking signups.
